Some months ago, it was remarked that the leak from the Supreme Court announcing that the abortion case, Roe v Wade, was to be overturned. And it was and GOP led states promptly issued various levels in banning the practice. The leak and the subsequent ruling were crafted before the 2022 Mid-Term and had the desired effect that Democrat turn-out exceeded expectations and limited Republican gains to just a small Majority in the House. At the time, it was remarked that the GOP got played.


The pattern is repeating itself. House Republicans are drafting Impeachment Articles against President Biden. Of all the things that need to be addressed, another impeachment would not be one of them. It will be seen as an act of political vengeance and puts the rest of the nation's business on hold. Impeachment has literally been done to death.


The Republican quandary is the same as the abortion debate. There are strong indications that Biden, through son Hunter, was an active participant in a Biden family money-laundering and influence peddling scheme. He took money from foreign sources. In any other universe, any other President would have to face charges.


But this is Joe Biden. Any move by House Republicans to impeach the President will concentrate his assets: the obstruction by the Justice Department. The isolation of the whistle-blowers. The two-tiered system of justice. The compliant Media. All these will make the President a sympathetic figure and have him seem the victim.


Biden's cognitive abilities remain suspect, which would enforce the narrative that he is being persecuted. But Republicans themselves are trapped. They have to do what they have always been expected to do. They were expanded to ban abortions. Now, they are expected to impeach the President. In the end, it could cost them.

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences.
