Fallacy. . .

(Fallacy. . .)

First, a word on the Supreme Court decision that finally ended racial preferences in college admissions. In a word, the Court has ended Affirmative Action. This decision, the Dobbs case of some months ago, so this decision, authored by Chief Justice Roberts himself, led a 6-3 conservative majority that strikes down the practice racially weighted admission practices that have been in place for decades. The Supreme Court has removed the excuse of racism for academic failure. Going forward, any prospective applicant will need to rely more on merit, the SAT and other admission tests. A high school GPA, extra-curricular activities and so on.

Now, this Decision is no accident considering the ideological composition of the Bench. President Donald Trump placed those three conservative Associates that contributed to the Ruling. So, the former President can still haunt the Halls. However, if one thinks Trump will be President again, there is diminishing evidence to support that theory.

It is true that Trump is leading nationally and is still besting Governor DeSantis by close to thirty points. But national polls, especially this far out from the Election are meaningless. The money shots have always been the state polls. A case in point would be Wisconsin. In the Badger State has Trump and DeSantis tied but the over-all preference for President remains Mr. Biden.

That is extraordinary. People in Wisconsin still prefer "Bidenomics," the high tax, high regulation and low to no growth. It is widely believed that Trump would have a different economic policy and one that would be in contravention to the Biden program of green socialism,

If there is a silver lining to be considered, it would be that he Florida Governor is now tied, at least in Wisconsin. If other state polls are reflecting the same sentiment, then perhaps the Trump alternative that Republicans so desperately need could be beginning to manifest itself. People will not vote again for Trump but perhaps would look at Governor DeSantis.
