Ping Pong

(Ping Pong)

How many people remember Gary Cooper in High Noon ? A lone sheriff expecting a group of bandits that wanted to see him dead. Over the course of the film, Cooper dispatches the gang, but he has to do it alone. No one in the town would help him. Donald Trump is like Gary Cooper as he is standing alone in his attempts to secure capital to pay the almost half a billion bond that is because any insurance concern, the ones who could post the amount have no wish to alienate the same authorities that are persecuting Trump.

That being said, the Trump-endorsed candidate in the Ohio Republican Senate Primary, Bernie Moreno, won against his opponents, garnering over fifty percent of votes cast. Moreno will be facing incumbent Democrat Sherod Brown in the Fall. It might be interesting to note that some of Moreno's funding came from Democrat sources. Their thinking, that any candidate endorsed by Trump is vulnerable to any Democrat.  That remains to be seen.

A real case of "ping pong," as it were, where the Supreme Court gave a tentative green light for the State of Texas to enforce its SB-4, which gave Texas law enforcement could, on their own, arrest illegal aliens and either deport them back to Mexico or to Immigration and Enforcement authorities. Ausitn was ready to act. However, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals from New Orleans, issued a stay on SB-4, for the time being. As the 5th is considered one of the more "conservative" benches, it can be expected that a ruling from New Orleans that affirms the Supreme Court decision on the Texas law.

What then would such a ruling have on other border states ? Going forward, would New Mexico, Arizona, and even California. However, that depends on when New Orleans rules. And then what ? The Biden Administration has been critical of Texas' action, allowing for lame excuses that these are Republican gimmicks and the GOP is not serious and needs to work with the President on common sense solutions.

If Biden had common sense, Texas would not need SB-4 and miles of razor wire. If the Texas Bill is ultimately upheld and the other border states take this ruling as precedent and move their own state law enforcement to intercept these migrants and process them according to their own state law, then Biden's immigration problem could be resolved.

But that would be contrary to policy. Biden is needing all these illegal aliens to eventually vote. If that flow begins to get restricted. by Texas and elsewhere, those voters will fail to materialize. And, if Donald Trump gets re-elected, however, how many of Biden's migrants will be deported ? Texas is only the first step.
