Last month was the 108th running of the Indianapolis 500, with Penske driver Josef Newgarden, taking the Checkered Flag. Along the way, Newgarden made several pitstops, gassing, new tires, wind shield cleaning and so on. President Biden will need his own set of pitstops in preparation for Thursday's debate with Donald Trump. Biden is at Camp David for such preparation, and it will be in these sessions where the President's viability can be determined. But this will be no sped out in the Winners' Circle, if Biden cannot be put together in time, not only will the President not get the Flag, he won't even get the pole.


It is considered that if Biden cannot perform in a few days, that will be his end. At that point, there will be no sense in pretending and will give Donald Trump the White House almost by default. Like any other racing team at the Five Hundred, with the all the sponsors, incorporated in a system that takes its car onto the track and, racing under Green and possibly Yellow, till one finishes. Or can Biden finish a single lap ?


Or, could he get dis-qualified ? Biden seems to be planning to "Low Bar" his performance, to get to the finish lime, ANY finish line. Over the next days till Thursday, one will see the race Biden will try to run. What of Donald Trump ? He is not planning any formal preparation himself but is opting to hold another rally in Pennsylvania. He will have his own advisers and he will be told that this is not a situation Trump necessarily needs to force early.


Like Mad Max, Beyond Thunderdome. Two men enter, one man leaves. If President Biden is still standing next Thursday evening, it will be said that he exceeded expectations. However, this is the leader of the Free World and one would expect something more substantial than good enough. So, drivers ready. Start your engines.  Wait for that wave of the green flag, and they're off !

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences. Basically, it says that even with the best intentions, negative results sometimes happen. However, there are also instances when a negative result is precisely the desired outcome.
