Four years ago, there was a "riot" on Capitol Hill. On January 6th, 2021, the 2020 Election results to be Certified. President Trump, at the time, held a demonstration and told those present to march on the Capitol and peacefully protest. Trump thought he had been robbed of a Second Term by Democrat-inspired rule changes to Election Law. January 6th 2021, has gone down in history as a Trump inspired riot. There had even been reports that Trump tried to commandeer a vehicle to take him to Capitol Hill. 


Like most of the events that day, an exaggerated narrative that Trump was trying to seize the government and that he was therefore a threat to democracy. Which is why Donald Trump will be certified, today, as the Nations 47th President.


The scene is almost surreal. Four years ago, it had to be then Vice President Mike Pence to certify then Vice President Joe Biden as the new President and Senator Kamala Harris as the Vice President. Now, the roles are completely reversed. Today it will be Vice President Harris to Certify President Trump and his pick for Vice President, Ohio Senator J.D. Vance.


At the moment, the most irrelevant person in Washington is President Biden. However, he is still doing damage, thinking he can permanently prohibit any further offshore drilling. See what Trump will do with that. It is being said that the President is feeling bitter like he has been betrayed. Biden was and he had to be. Biden proved he could no longer be Chief Executive, least of all another four years.


At some point this afternoon, the results of the 2024 Election will be confirmed. Vice President Harris managed to flub the Pledge of Allegiance recitation as she gaveled in the Joint Session of Congress that will finally conclude the 2024 Election Season. As it was in the beginning, it is being again.

(Keeping The Faith ?) Happy Memorial Day ! This is the day when the nation pauses and recognizes the contributions of the men and women that strove, and often times perished in the defense of this country. How many campaigns and battles have been seen over the years with Americans in harms way. Theirs was not a pursuit of glory, necessarily but they are remembered as such. As an example, take the Joe Rosenthal photo of the "Iwo Jima Flag-raising," February 23rd, 1945. Most people know what that is and not a few have a copy on their wall. Three of those Marines survived Iwo Jima and went on a bond tour to promote that picture. The U.S. was able to fund the rest of the War off of that drive but the Marines in question did not fare well. Siege Of The Alamo

(Siege Of The Alamo) Any visitor to Downtown San Antonio will recognize the City's most famous landmark, the Alamo. An old Spanish mission that means "Cottonwood" in English was the site where the likes of Jim Bowie, William Barrett Travis and Davy Crockett and about another 185 Texians defended the Mission and its compound for thirteen days against the Army of General Antonio Lopez de Santa Ana and his 5,000 troops. The garrison was finally reduced on March 6, 1836. However, the Texian defeat at the Alamo and another one at Goliad, bought time for General Sam Houston time to fall back and then face Santa Ana at San Jacinto. There, Houston's army surprised the Mexicans and yelling "Remember the Alamo, Remember Goliad !" all but wiped out the Mexican force.
