Migratory Patterns. . .

 (Migratory Patterns. . .)

It is three weeks from today that people will go out and vote. Depending on who one talks to, either the GOP will have a blow-out night or one can take the more measured approach. that Democrats will hold the Senate and the reasons for maintaining that conclusion have not changed. In Senate races, all Republican candidates are still behind their Democrat challengers and the Democrats hold an over-whelming funding advantage, Certain Republicans like Dr. Oz has just announced that his campaign is "going dark," meaning that it is out of money and Pennsylvanians are realizing that they don't need a prospective Senator Fetterman, functional mute that he might be, his actual utility on the Senate Floor would be just to cast a vote, and, if he is assigned a Committee, all he would have to do would be to "yield time." Hershal Walker is still behind Senator Rafael Warnock and the Republican contender missed an opportunity to participate in another debate. The endorsement of former President Trump has proven all but the Mark of Cain.

That being said and perhaps one new benefit possibly accruing to the GOP is the apparent "migration" of African-Americans, Hispanics, and now so-called college-educated women, who now favor Republicans where the same group were on the other side just last month. If these trends continue and this revised presence manifests itself on Election Day ? There have been demographic changes to be sure and the conventional wisdom is that for the long term, Democrats are still favored. It will perhaps take a generation, or two, but even Texas and Florida will eventually be wholly Democratic.

So, there is a window for a Republican Majority in the House, to at least attempt some retrenchment on President Biden and Democrat green social spending. The Senate will be of no use in that regard and of course the President stands with his Veto. On the "bright" side of things, however, many of the newly minted GOP Congresspeople will be what one might call non-traditional Republicans, as one might point to non-traditional Democrats, who have become the Party of the elites, of Wall Street. of academia, and naturally in Hollywood. One other thing one can notice is that power resides with them.

So, who are these piss-ant Republicans ? Not of the elites but the ones that run the country, the working class. once the purview of the other Party. A new type of member, perhaps an expanded voter roll, but any such movement will only be temporary and in one or at most two mid-term cycles Democrats will be back in the Majority as these demographic trends start to tell but, but and this is most important, the GOP will not be able to not re-nominate Donald Trump. That will be the end of all things.
