There are leaders and then there are fellow travelers. Men, and women, who might be in positions of leadership but who do not lead in fact. The current Administration in Washington comes to mind. The globalist bureaucrats at Davos are another example. People who think they are in charge of things but act contrary to the interests of people. These people have committed to ideological concepts that have proven inimical and damaging. One can start with the onset of the next recession.

Bad policy decisions are being made. The reason that inflation is where it is, the reason why gas prices are where they are. The Fed is raising interest rates to combat inflation but at the same time, destroying the economy in the process. Demand destruction is the term used. So, people have to pay more for everything and at the same time have fewer means to.

There seems to be a demand for sacrifice from the likes of Davos and company but is not a sacrifice these elites seem willing to share. One could help but notice the line of G-5's parked at the resort's airdrome. For all the rhetoric about air pollution these elites seem to claim an exception. They are doing important work so allowances to be accommodated on their behalf. That is what John Kerry is claiming.

But if that is an issue, then perhaps don't travel at all. The World Economic Forum has no mandate except what it has given itself and it has no broad appeal. Still, the Forum expects the rest of the world to adhere to its directives. For its part, the rest of the world finds these things expensive and hard to implement.

Now, the WEF has been enjoying some vitality because it is close concert with the Biden Administration, who apparently has not been willing to speak to American interests, which, at the moment, would include energy independence and a secure border, among other things. These are concerns of average people who have decidedly not been consulted.

The question is one of American sovereignty and what leaders will have that as a priority and who would be content to run with the crowd, regardless of the direction taken.
