AMERICA HELD HOSTAGE, DAY 2

NBC airs its three "Chicago" series, Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D. For its part, on Tuesdays, CBS airs what are called the FBI's. FBI. FBI International, and FBI Most Wanted. The new episodes aired yesterday were, in show order, about an about a kidnapping, an art theft, and a loose cannon child psychologist. Mundane plots that hold audiences to the tune of getting ranked in weekly Nielsons. However, this ready for Prime-Time image of the Federal Bureau of Investigation is the public persona of the agency. As has recently been revealed, however, the true function of the FBI has been its influence in politics. Namely its influence in the 2020 Election.


It had been Bureau intervention that promoted the Trump-Russia collusion story. The firing of then Director Comey by President Trump was used to trigger the Mueller Investigations. Subsequently it was the continued contributions of his successors, their involvement in the Hunter Biden laptop suppression. All these contributing efforts proved successful in removing President Trump from office. Now, could these events not be dramatized, put a script to things and advertise as "next week's episode on FBI ?" Would that not be compelling TV ?


If one can remember the finale's of M*A*S*H or the "who shot J.R." on that episode of Dallas, each program garnered millions of viewers. Now, imagine a crossover between FBI and Most Wanted, with Donald Trump clearly the subject for the latter. For those who dis-like the former President, they would tune in just to see him squirm. The rest ?


Taken at face value, if the activities of the former President are indeed "worse than Watergate," as has been alleged, would that not make an Emmy worthy episode of FBI ? The winter premiers for all three shows aired the other day but for those writers who are turning in those scripts could perhaps make more compelling television if they took closer examination of the Trump-FBI Quagmire.

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Or, in other words, relax. Take a breath. De-compress. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences. Basically, it says that even with the best intentions, negative results sometimes happen. However, there are also instances when a negative result is precisely the desired outcome. Like with the Israel- Hamas war where the Biden Administration continues to press for an all but unilateral ceasefire on the part of Israel. In California, the new $20/HR minimum wage is wreaking havoc on the fast food industry. And finally, after depleting the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, oil has now become too expensive. How many times must the Biden Administration think it can influence Israeli affairs ? How many times must Israel ignore it.
