It was recently announced that President Biden has authorized the re-deployment of some 31 M1 Abrams' tanks to the Ukraine. To what end ? This new armor contingent is being sent into an active theater and might at some point be in combat, against Russian T-72's, or whatever the Russians might be fielding these days (in the 1991 Gulf War, over a thousand Iraqi T-72's were destroyed by M1A1's against no combat losses). So, now in 2023, these tanks with its 120mm main gun with depleted uranium rounds that has a tendency to open any other tank like a piece of Swiss cheese.

President Biden has no strategy for how these Abrams' will be used with no clear objective, The addition of these armored vehicles are too few to alter the situation on the ground and beyond that, is another escalation which President Putin has noted. How many times must it be emphasized that Moscow has all the staying power and can continue its operations indefinitely.

That reality has apparently never influenced Biden or for that matter, any of those others fighting for Ukrainian "independence." Adding capability haphazardly, as is being done here does not denote any sort of plan. The President does not seem to have any plan in dealing with Republicans in whatever debt ceiling discussions, which the President has emphatically stated that there will be none.

But such armored warfare is not static. "Tanks" are maneuvered across terrain to gain the advantage of position against an opponent. What position does Biden think he is manning against the House GOP ? These Republicans, at least what can be said about them, is that they are maneuvering, in sense. They have been making proposals and the process continues.

These thirty-one Abrams' deployed to Eastern Europe will probably not prove combat effective if ever sent to engage Russian models. And the President's in dealing with Republicans is equally flawed. One has to ask what results Biden expected in either scenario ? This is not, and was never a "make it so," and it materializes. The President would have to re-position first.
