Author Tom Clancy was the father of the "Technothriller." The Hunt for Red October, Red Storm Rising, and Patriot Games were all examples of his work where he was able to meld real life military and intelligence into a concise narrative that sold millions of copies. His best seller, indeed the best seller of the entire 1980's was his anti-narcotics Clear & Present Danger, where the CIA had sent four special operations teams to engage Columbian cartels. However, in an attack on a drug lord residence, civilians were unfortunately killed. The Administration at the time panicked and, wishing to avoid an international incident, abandoned those teams in the field but that was when the Director of Central Intelligence and the Director of Operations came to their senses and sent Clancy hero Jack Ryan into Columbia and attempt to retrieve those personnel.

Because of Biden's open border policy, the lack of security in the region, four Americans from South Carolina, were seized by the local Gulf Cartel in Mattamores, across the river from Brownsville. Two have now been declared dead. The fate of the other two remain un-certain through one has been reported as wounded. The State Department has been working to secure the release of the remaining Americans and a reward is also being offered.

The other day, the consequences of a Trump re-election were discussed. And, if Trump were back in the White House, and these Americans were captured and some killed, a Trump response would prove a lot less measured. As it happens, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has introduced a Bill that would label Mexican cartels as terrorist organizations providing a legal basis to perhaps engage them in Mexico.

These Cartels do represent a clear and present danger to people, and so also the President by virtue of his "partnership" with them. Biden has the open border in the expectation that those coming in will someday vote Democrat. A wall and a more active stance against these peddlers of death, taking the fight to them, could perhaps impede the President's intention.
