On air talent can be hard to find, especially if one is a newscaster. In the past, there were institutions. Brokaw. Chancellor. Cronkite. Men who sat at their desks for decades. With the advent of cable 24 hour news. In 1980, the Cable News Network. first went on air followed by MsNBC and Fox News. The national media at this point includes print publications like the Washington POST, the New York TIMES, among others, and the three main broadcast networks. With the exception of Fox, all media has a well known leftist bias.


However, there have been personnel changes both at Fox News and also at CNN. Fox has just terminated prime time host Tucker Carlson of Tucker Carlson Tonight, Dan Bongino of his weekend Unfiltered, and at Cable News Network, Anchor Don Lemon has also been terminated.


Now, there is apparently some question as to why Carlson was allowed to leave. The host has been always opinionated and not one to shy away from controversary. He had been one to question the 2020 results and had been prone to ask questions. Specifically, Carlson questioned the Dominion Voting system and how the potential had been present that Dominion failed to count certain Trump ballots. A lawsuit had been filed and was costing News Corp. As Carlson, despite his high ratings, his departure from the Sixth Avenue Fox headquarters seems to be mutual.


Dan Bongino and his Unfiltered program on Saturday appears to have been a ratings issue. The Fox weekend line up had been Brian Kilmeade and his One Nation, followed what had been Bongino's show and then the Lawrence Jonses and his Cross Country. Now, that being said, Fox News now has to find new programming for two hours. Maybe they could bring Megyn Kelley back ?


Don Lemon had been a fixture on CNN for a number of years. If Tucker Carlson was the loud mouth from the right, Lemon was the equivalent on the left. He had been partnered with Chris Cuomo, who was forced to resign over connections to his disgraced brother, former New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo. Lemon lost his evening slot and was relegated to the morning. Even there, Lemon still had a problem with keeping his mouth shut. So, he is following Tucker and Dan, and now Don.


That being said, Fox News has an audience that CNN does not. Fox now has room for additional material and, in the past, has used such "vacancies," like when Bill O'reilly left, that allowed for Tucker which was followed by Hannity and then Laura Ingram. But also, Outnumbered and The Five are current hits. As mentioned, maybe Megyn Kelly could her own show back ?

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Or, in other words, relax. Take a breath. De-compress. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences.
