Being not much of a surprise. President Biden made his seeking a second term official. It is also true. however that this effort is lacking wide-spread acclaim. As previously discussed, some 70% of Americans, including many Democrats, are not wishing Biden run again. That being said, the choice is either 70% against a Biden re-run, or, a 100% aversion to Donald Trump returning to the White House.


All that Joe Biden had to do was simply formally declare and the same machinery that had proved so effective almost three years ago can be put back into action. Mr. Biden can go back to his basement and the entire Democratic electoral infrastructure can be mobilized. The target will be Donald Trump and the broader GOP tickets and it is likely that the former President will be out-maneuvered in 2024 the same he had been in 2020.


There is one individual, however, that could save Republicans from this fate. Former New Jersey Governor, Chris Christie (R), had been one who lost the Trump mystique. As he put it, he was a popular GOP Executive in deep Blue New Jersey. Trump lost to Joe Biden. One can see that Christie, barring that Bridge Gate controversary, he could have been Trump's choice for VP.


Christie will present himself as the alternative to Trump that has a chance at victory. All year, these pages have consistently recommended the disposal of Trump and, in that regard. Christie is a viable alternative. He has had more exposure than a Haley, a Ramaswamy, or all the others that could be seeking the GOP throne.


Back during the 2020 Campaign, as covid was sweeping the nation and Trump was declining in the polls, the comment was made that people would be looking for reasons not to vote for him. Then the infamy of the 2nd Debate, when the Hunter Laptop story was suppressed and dis-credited, which helped elevate Vice President Joe Biden to where he could lose the "Vice." As he is likely to win, assuming the Republicans nominate Trump, again, Chris Christie will be forced to the side-lines and muse what could have been. And Biden will be given the biggest participation trophy of all time.

TEQUILA !

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences. Basically, it says that even with the best intentions, negative results sometimes happen. However, there are also instances when a negative result is precisely the desired outcome.
