The White House Correspondence Dinner was held last night and besides a few representatives from Fox News, the balance of the audience could be described as the creme of the liberal media. In other words, a friendly crowd for the President who had to make an attempt at humor. Countless of comedians are of work and here is the President trying to be funny.


A recent poll posed the question as to who people might prefer, Biden or Trump. It has been chronicled how the former has the infrastructure to return him to office, However, that will not mean that the process will be without question. As originally planned, the Biden Administration was to have the President stand as a figurehead. The one chosen as Vice President, however, Ms. Harris, was to be even less. The Vice President was chosen not for any political ability but Kamala Harris did have two things that went for her. She is a woman and she is black. And she is Joe's heartbeat away from becoming President herself.


A President Harris cannot be the same as a Vice President Harris. There have always been questions of succession where a principal has a sudden demise and responsibility falls to "the next in line," whomever that might be. Sometimes, the successor has the same qualifications as the one before. George VI could carry on after the abdication of George V. However, Tsar Alexander III in giving the Throne to Nicholas II ensured the end to the Romanov Dynasty.


So, who will Kamala Harris be more representative of ? George VI ? Or Nicholas II ? There is always an education for leadership but the Vice President has at times demonstrated a certain in-curiousness, the cackeling word salads as an example. That will not do as President of the United States. In prospective "summits" with Xi or Putin, would she able to maintain her composure ?


That being said, replacing Harris would not be easy. One of the "draws" that attracted people to the Biden/Harris ticket was the idea of voting for the first black woman to the Number 2 in the government. And that is what happened. However, while she was picked because of her identity, while in Office, there would still be certain Vice Presidential things that would expected by the public.


That has not happened. If it does not happen in the time left to President Biden, and Harris does ger elevated ? That is the risk to take. The choices are these. Either own gets a President Harris and all the consequences of that. Or one could get Trump. Explain the lesser of two evils.

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences. Basically, it says that even with the best intentions, negative results sometimes happen. However, there are also instances when a negative result is precisely the desired outcome.
