The arraignment of former President Trump is about complete at this moment. If things are on schedule, Trump will depart the Courthouse and either head back to his residence in Trump Tower for a departure back to Florida or he could proceed back to La Guardia this afternoon. In any event, Trump will not be carrying any "bag of swag," such as that much anticipated mug shot, which had been deferred. Or the President could face a gag order. The practical effect of all of this is that will not be receiving the exposure he otherwise would have enjoyed,


That mug shot was to be put on everything from t-shirts to coffee mugs, pun intended. If no photograph is taken, none of the merchandising potential could be realized. But it is a deliberate attempt to limit Trumps exposure and prevent him from effectively communicating with the public. The Trump Campaign will rise or fall on how is able to address the American people/ If the President gets muzzled, he loses that ability.


The other thing one could see the prosecution and the judge doing is to is "gag" Trump. Going forward, enforcing Trumps silence would further compromise the ex-Commander in Chief. Now, legal opinion seems divided on whether such an order could be issued and whether Trump would even abide by it.


It has to be made clear, then, that any violations by Trump would trigger a "contempt of court" citation whereby the former President could be incarcerated. That indeed would prove the Holy Grail for Trump enemies. It is the opportunity presented here where the Trump Campaign can be hobbled by keeping the Candidate out of the spotlight. It is also true that if the gamut of measures do not get applied, and Trump remains a public figure, then what Alvin Bragg is attempting here will not wholly fulfilled.

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. (Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences.
