One can say, days after the Coronation of King Charles III (God Save His Majesty) that the United Kingdom could have combined ceremonies had His Majesty waited till today, May 8thm V-E (Victory in Europe) Day, A Coronation and a Commemoration on the same day ? In any event, however, King Charles went first and is today in the light of his grandfather, George VI, who had been on Buckingham's balcony with Prime Minister Churchill.


That being said, this not V-E Day for the Biden Administration. The President's approval rating is at 36%. New polls have him actually trailing Donald Trump. The floodgates at then border are about to open. But what seems to be important to Biden is a new ban on dishwashers. In concert with New York Governor Hochul, who has proven just as much of a believer as the President.


In addition to the introduction of dishwashers, that don't really wash dishes, a new commuting  "tax" is about to levied against New Yorkers, or, more specifically, those who take bridge and tunnel from New Jersey and, if the President's plan is approved, the trip will cost some $23. Needless to say, Trenton and Governor Phil Murphy (D) is not thrilled by what the people across the Hudson.


However, Biden has his own agenda. He is calling it Justice40 where some 40% of government outlays get tasked to so-called "under served communities." However, the very people that Biden and Hochul are hurting with these policies that the President and Empire State Governor are advocating ?


But Biden is not known as a deep thinker and has a corresponding lack of reflection.

TEQUILA !

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Or, in other words, relax. Take a breath. De-compress. May 5th as it happens is the anniversary of Mexico's victory over French "occupation" of Mexico by Emperor Maximillian, brother to Austrian monarch Maria Theresa in what has been called the Battle of Puebla. The reason France was in Mexico in the first place was that Mexico, after the Mexican-American War and a more civil conflict called the Reform War, had bankrupted Mexico City. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences. Basically, it says that even with the best intentions, negative results sometimes happen. However, there are also instances when a negative result is precisely the desired outcome. Like with the Israel- Hamas war where the Biden Administration continues to press for an all but unilateral ceasefire on the part of Israel. In California, the new $20/HR minimum wage is wreaking havoc on the fast food industry. And finally, after depleting the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, oil has now become too expensive. How many times must the Biden Administration think it can influence Israeli affairs ? How many times must Israel ignore it.
