Allow one to begin here. There are many reasons why people are leaving New York City but if the City forces the various pizzerias to adopt expensive new equipment for the ovens, turning what had been a New York-style dollar slice to something more expensive and probably not worth it, the resulting flight will make Snake Pliskin's "Escape from New York" seem like a leisurely excursion. When do people learn.


In any event, President Ronald Reagan was called the "Teflon President" because he could not be definitively tied to the so-called Iran-contra scandal. President Biden, however, is facing evidence that he and his family are part of a pay for play deal from several foreign nations. That being said has to say that the President and his son have yet to face consequences and putting Biden back in the basement and away from outside influences. Like a debate.


Robert F. Kennedy has declared his candidacy and is polling at 20%. But he will not be facing Biden behind podiums. Truth be told is that a majority of Democrats had wished the President not run but when they see that Donald Trump will probably be the re-peat from the other side, there will be a coalescing around the President, as damaged has he might be.


There seems to be general agreement that 2024 is shaping up to be a re-play of 2020 with the same candidates, Biden and Trump. Things are at a point now where neither is the real preference. Biden is too old and Trump, well, is Trump. But the President is retaining that infrastructure that was so instrumental almost three years ago.


As has previously remarked, if Joe Biden were not President he would be a pastry chef. Same with his son who's only value is his relationship to his father and that has proven profitable. It is also against the law but prosecuting the President is not how things work anymore. At least not one in Office.

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Or, in other words, relax. Take a breath. De-compress. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences. Basically, it says that even with the best intentions, negative results sometimes happen. However, there are also instances when a negative result is precisely the desired outcome. Like with the Israel- Hamas war where the Biden Administration continues to press for an all but unilateral ceasefire on the part of Israel.
