While the Academy Awards season is months away, it be useful to see how "Oscar" identifies these days ? 

A lot of people remember the Stanley Kramer classic, Inherent the Wind. This had been a dramatization of the Scopes' Monkey Trial where the teaching of evolution against the fundamentalist interpretation of the Holy Bible. It was Spencer Tracy arguing in defense of a high school teacher who in giving instruction in evolution was against the law. The prosecutor was the similarly famous Fredrich March. In the end, the teacher was found guilty but was only fined a hundred dollars.


That is what has happened to Hunter Biden. He will be pleading guilty to tax and gun charges and will probably not serve any jail time. Biden Jr. has as much exposure to the bribery scheme as his father but, because he is Hunter Biden, who has been teaching evolution in high school in violation of the law but only being given a small fine.


And, as has been mentioned, the total potential prison time for Donald Trump is 400 years, assuming guilty verdicts on all counts. This wrist slap on Hunter Biden is meant to end the ongoing investigation in the sense that any further documentation regarding younger Biden will not need to be delivered to House GOP investigators.


The fact remains that Hunter Biden has still been "teaching evolution." It has been established that millions of dollars from various nefarious sources and the President was involved at some point. Like an episode of "Where's Waldo," wherever Biden the younger was seen, he was paid because of who his father is. Who you know, matters. Does Donald Trump know anybody ?

TEQUILA !

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences. Basically, it says that even with the best intentions, negative results sometimes happen. However, there are also instances when a negative result is precisely the desired outcome.
