The House vote to raise the debt ceiling passed 314 to the rest. So much a wire finish and all the declarations of certitude by Republicans that they could never support. As it turns out, some 149 GOPers and another 71 opposed it. For Minority Democrats, their margin was 165-46. So, More Democrats than Republicans supported the bill but the so-called "No" vote is more an indication of a "gimme." Had there been real danger of the Measure actually failing and the slim Republican Majority would not be able to do this on its own. The same calculation was made for Democrat House members as well to where both Parties could benefit in this rare instance of bi-partisan cooperation.


In other happenings, more Republicans are  joining the race for the Republican Nomination. Chief among them is former President Donald Trump. Trump is like a Boss with a series of capos that earned under him. Now, in what Trump is sure to consider dis-loyalty, former members of his Administration, a Florida Governor that would not be in Office except for his efforts, and most stinging of all is his former Vice President: all challenging him for the top spot in the Republican Party.


All that being said, President Biden is returning to the basement where he can wait the process out again. No campaign. No debates. Indeed, the President seemed to laugh at the idea of a more active presence on the trail. he does not need to face Robert Kennedy Jr. He does not need to face Donald Trump. He knows the fix will be in again because of the same elements that put him in the White House to begin with in 2020, will still be in place. What does he have to worry about ?


Evens seem to be unfolding rate a rate not even Nostradamus could match. Trump will be the GOP Nominee, again and will be defeated by a basement borne President Biden, again. What is the line for those odds ?

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Or, in other words, relax. Take a breath. De-compress. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences. Basically, it says that even with the best intentions, negative results sometimes happen. However, there are also instances when a negative result is precisely the desired outcome.
