President Biden is set to finally visit what is left of fire-ravaged Maui. It should be mentioned that Biden is interrupting his vacation, but he has one more destination when he jets to Reno. Here today and gone tomorrow, leaving a ruined Paradice. The rebuilding of Maui will be generations in the process. And, at this time, the possibility is emerging that some water was not utilized because of "equity" concerns, part of Hawaii's own green policies and encouraged by Biden's green agenda. In any event, the insurance costs for restoring the entire west of the island will be astronomical.

President Biden bares some responsibility for Maui. He is like the owner of a mansion that got over-extended and could no longer make payments. But, before the "bank" takes position of the property, he sells pieces pre-emptively, or, in this case, the remaining materials left in the sun that would otherwise have been part of the border wall. The Senate passed out a bill as a Republican-sponsored part of the Defense Authorization Act called "Finish It" that mandates wall completion. If this passed from the Democrat controlled Senate, passing it from the Republican controlled House should be easier The idea would be to donate the materials to Texas and Arizona for the actual construction.

All wall materials had been paid for under the Trump Administration to the tune of $15 billion. But President Biden is in a rush to sell these steel tubes and other pieces for pennies on the dollar to a Canadian clearance company to preclude these materials from being re-incorporated back into the barrier. This is the "mansion" the President needs to unload before Republicans can develop things further.

President Biden wants an open border and attempts to close it he resists. His theory is that all illegal immigrants will in time vote Democratic. In the meantime, Biden is willing to accept cartel control of northern Mexico. He is willing to accept human trafficking. He is willing to accept the thousands of fentanyl deaths. The President is also willing to pack off the thousands or migrants being sent to New York from points south.

But the wall had been Trump's idea. Had it been completed as originally planned, none of the consequences of its absence would be manifest. It had been the consequences of a second Trump term that would not be palatable. So now, as the wall's re-start appears possible, if President Biden can appropriate things ahead of time, perhaps he could delay construction, again because cartel control, human trafficking, and thousands of fentanyl deaths. But what is all that compared to Trump out of Office, and looking forward to those Democratic votes.
