There are times when, like in a jury trial on an explosive case, those in the box are ordered by the judge to not discuss the case outside of the courtroom. That makes sense because exposure to outside influences could affect the outcome. A similar request is being made by the Justice Department to, in effect, keep former President Trump from speaking about his trial. The Department's claim is that there is more evidence and witnesses that remain to be deposed and any comment Trump might make on social media, namely, his Truth-Social. It is the opinion of the Department that an un-fettered Trump commentary where he would endlessly complain about his persecution.

Which is his right. Trump's whole argument is that he has a right to complain. He has the right to say that he actually won in 2020 and, even if he does not believe that, he can still say as much. With Trump in the public eye as much as he is, he is creating his own narrative. He is not being questioned and he is not being crossed examined. It is what he is saying and whom he is saying it too.

And that could compromise the DoJ case. So, a federal judge had been approached in to issue an "order of protection." If such an order were granted, attempting to draw out of the lime-light, it will have the effect of ending Trump's ability to actively campaign. No more rallies. No more tv appearances. Such requests would seem to suggest that the confidence level for the chances of convicting the former President and even if they do, would it stand up on appeal ?

Depriving Trump of his exposure, and his First Amendment, seems the only way to curtail his fortune. Of all those who suffer from Trump derangement syndrome, the national media could suffer a psychological break on a Trump re-election. That is why another indictment is imminent in Georgia. In that case, a mug-shot will be registered. In that event, the picture will placed on a T-Shirt which could prove the best selling garment of all time.

It had been previously suggested that Trump could not beat Biden and that might still hold true. However, all attempts to silence him and impose legal jeopardy has instead given him an amplifier where his voice is as loud as ever. That is why the Department of Justice is desperate for Trump to shut up.
