On July 9th 1945, a second atomic bomb was dropped on the Japanese city of Nagasaki. On the same day, however, the Soviet Union began an attack on depleted Japanese forces in Manchuria. While a Japanese collapse was inevitable, there was a brief but sharp coup attempt to prevent the Emperor from broadcasting Japan's acceptance of the Potsdam terms. There are those who have been critical of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. the latter gratuitous, and point to the Soviet intervention as the mechanism that prompted the Japanese surrender

In that August, 1945, the Japanese heard their Emperor's voice for the first time. By that point, Japanese troops had been in combat since 1931. In 1937, the Kwangtung Army began operations in China and then, in 1941, Pearl Harbor. The Pacific War that followed saw Japan and its Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere was gradually compressed. Japanese cities were systemically fire-bombed culminating with the Tokyo fire raid in March, 1945, and of course Hiroshima and Nagasaki the following August. The Imperial Japanese Empire announced its surrender on August 14th, V-J Day declared on August 15th, and formal Ceremonies were held on the USS Missouri, riding anchor in Tokyo Bay, September 2nd, 1945.

How confused might President Biden be in his struggle to combat climate change. He was at the Grand Canyon and he gave a soft-ball interview to a correspondent from. wait for it, the Weather Chanel. The "extreme temperatures" like in Texas, had been readily discussed to which the President Biden proudly proclaims his efforts. The reality is that the President could be as mis-informed as some of the Japanese were. That would be un-fortunate if the President is calling a so-called "climate crisis."

The President is in Arizona but he is not visiting the border. He is not commenting on the fact that EV company Proterra has filed for bankruptcy. Like Solyndra and all the other renewable energy boondoggles. And the President also proudly claimed he is further restricting oil exploration on the East Coast as well as offshore. Like that is a good thing ?

The President would not know because he has this myopic vision that his policies can do no harm. That is why he still is pushing Bidenomics. However, one can only eat so much pie in the sky before someone falls to Earth.
