Here is the shot of the former President when he was processed at that Georgia jail. Trump here is looking defiant and determined. In his mind, he still did nothing wrong, save for questioning the results of an election he had to lose. Donald Trump probably did not break the law, but he has proven impolitic when facing his opposition.


The four jurisdictions that are charging the former President is speaking volumes in that these various trials are seen as what is required to compromise the GOP frontrunner. But from the beginning, the deck had to be stacked and Trump will be facing the same Democrat infrastructure that had been successful in installing President Biden.


It has been remarked in corners that for Trump to prevail next year, the millions of voters that left him last time would have to come back, a problematic proposition. That is missing the broader issue. Trump has been complaining of election interference and that is exactly what it is because it has to be.


But back to the original question, should Trump be smiling ? There has been opinion in some circles that this image is the most visible symbol of Trump's persecution and, for fair minded people, be they fans of the former President or not, and if there is any sense of fairness, any objective view is that it is not, the effort being expended to keep Trump from a return to the White House and the same thing can be directed against anybody.


So, should Trump have smiled ? Ever the master marketer, that mug-shot is now being put on T-shirts, sweatshirts, and a favorite, a "Mug-Shot" Mug.

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences. Basically, it says that even with the best intentions, negative results sometimes happen. However, there are also instances when a negative result is precisely the desired outcome.
