It's good to pretend.

It has been a good thing to be discussing Roman Emperors of late. One of the more notorious was the Emperor Nero who in the wake of the burning of Rome, if the Emperor himself did not cause it and he did "fiddle" while the city was being consumed. In the aftermath, where thousands of Romans had been displaced, Nero erected his so-called Golden Palace, the most ornate residence ever so constructed, surpassing even the palace of Augustus in sheer opulence. Nero's ostentatious display was made possible because he was a Roman Emperor and had unlimited power.


Which President Biden whishes he had. Biden has become bored of the Constitutional system of checks and balances, which now, for the sake of the climate, have proven in in-convenience. So, in three respects, the unilateral cancelling of all remaining oil leases from the ANWAR region Alaska. But his oil producing real estate had already been given the green light by Congress and was even signed by former President Trump. In other words, Biden has no authority to take such an action but that would not seem to matter. What about those citizens of Alaska who depend on fossil fuel income ? But when the most powerful man in the world is aligning with "activists" who glue themselves to tennis courts, then something is clearly fishy in Denmark. And this prohibition comes in the wake of petroleum cuts by both Russia and Saudi Arabia. Is the President aware of the effect of his war on energy will have on people ? How inflation persists because oil is being kept artificially high. Nero was not particular popular and for Mr. Biden, forcing a transition to so-called green energy. Is anybody curious why the United Auto Workers is about to strike ? Biden wants to ban gas cars so can one imagine how what has been a constituency is showing disfavor ? 


A few weeks ago, was it not the ruling of the Supreme Court that student loan forgiveness was un-Constitutional ? Why then is the President still forgiving student loans, unilaterally like the ANWAR decision. For one who has been in Washington all his adult life he should know how the government is supposed to work. Why deviations all of a sudden ? Will the President declare some kind of climate emergency ? The current immigration crisis is fracturing the Democrat Party as another case of consequences of Biden's unilateral move to open the border with the effect that thousands of illegal migrants are now swarming Democrat jurisdictions. Biden is destroying New York.


President Biden is pretending he has more power than he actually does. With a very active signature he is making life and death decisions for millions whether or not these policies are desirable. Emperor Nero had a predecessor who displayed the same ambition as President Biden. His name had been Julius Caesar.

TEQUILA !

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Or, in other words, relax. Take a breath. De-compress. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences. Basically, it says that even with the best intentions, negative results sometimes happen. However, there are also instances when a negative result is precisely the desired outcome.
