Talk about a lack of originality. Any time a movie or TV show is moderately successful. there is always the tendency to replicate that success. Remember M*A*S*H ? How about After M*A*S*H ? Or, The Golden Palace after the Golden Girls ? The New WKRP ? How many Police Acadermies, ? Major Leagues ? Highlanders ? Or, how about The Exorcist II The Heretic ? Two more features are due to be released in he near future so it sill see how they fare In any event, a lot of those movies and TV shows were failures and were either cancelled or failed at the box office. So then, why is Barny Ross need an Expendables 4 ?


Both Joe Biden and Donald Trump are releasing sequels. The President is looking for a second term, and so is former President Trump. The question is which sequel should not be made ? It is like a double release. Earlier in the year, Barbie had been debuted with Oppenheimer. The receipts have yet to be tabulated but neither film flopped. That being said, however, the Biden/Trump double feature is getting reviewed. Say an issue of Variety, Hollywood's premier publication, both campaigns are being critiqued. 


One can begin with President Biden. Any casual observation would indicate he is not at 100%. He has been on vacation to the exclusion of public need, his abbreviated visits to Maui and Florida are proof enough of that. In short, Biden could be too old. The President is still under investigation. More linkages in bribery allegations continue to be revealed. It has today that Biden's America is Biden's creation. The effects of Bidenomics, despite the President being laudatory. High inflation, high gas prices, a chaotic immigration system and all but lying about the state of the economy. He did not create 13 million jobs. He has not cut the deficit. Truth be told, Many of his own Party wish he was elsewhere. It is dangerous to believe one's own press and, in the words of Jay Sherman, Jon Lovitz in the animated sitcom, The Critic, if the Biden campaign were a movie, Sherman always had two words: It sinks !


And what about Donald Trump ?  His feature is "playing" in the same theater. Despite his own problems he is tied with the President, and, if a third party, like No Labels or Professor Cornel West's efforts, perhaps a significant number of votes could be weened off Biden to the benefit of Bidens predecessor. Donald Trump has been defying gravity. His is an exercise in non-Euclidian Geometry. Four indictments and a less than flattering mugshot.


All these travails are not having the desired effect, at least for Democrat interests. If the conventional wisdom is that the former President still cannot defeat the current one, then why is there opinion that Biden is too old ? Why is Senator Sanders complaining ? There are two possible paths here. As Biden declines and Trump rises, at what point do they meet.


So, which sequel should not be made ?

TEQUILA !

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences. Basically, it says that even with the best intentions, negative results sometimes happen. However, there are also instances when a negative result is precisely the desired outcome.
