Fall, in New Hampshire must be a sight, Any October trip on Highway whatever will astound with all the fall foliage. The golds, the reds, the leaves off the trees, combine in a panoply of images that will astound any visitor. Except for President Biden. The Granite State is also important politically as it has been the state that has made itself the first primary contest for both Parties for the past century. In 2020, Biden came in fifth in New Hampshire and that was after a lack-lusted performance in the Iowa Caucus. It was in South Carolina and the endorsement of House Majority Whip Clyburn (D-SC) and the concession of Senators Warren and Sanders that allowed for Biden to secure the Democrat nomination and all that happened after.


So, in order to more accurately reflect the realities of the Democrat Party, the effort is under way that would move the first primary state to South Carolina and bypass New Hampshire altogether, But that violates state election law and, if Joe Biden wants to be considered by the Granite State, all the paperwork will need to be filed in Concord. If the President is not a printed candidate, there is always the "write in" option.


That being said, however, it is not certain that Biden would win a write in. Names that will be printed, if not RFK Jr (who says he is an Independent) then Governor Newsome, Ms. Williamson and so on who will be there and it will be more easy to just color in that oval than to pen in the President. Of course, that is the DNC holds a primary in the first place. However, action of some type needs to be taken.


Now, everybody knows there is a war on and the President is being forced into decisions that he is not used to. Americans have been in killed and some are still in harms' way. Hostages remain in Hamas' custody but at the same time, the Administration is desperate to keep Iran from engaging in a broader conflict. That is why sanctions are not being applied. That is why excuses are being made for Tehran.


Not being on the New Hampshire ballot can be seen as indicative of the Biden Administration over-all. That litany is well known. However, there are proper measures that can be taken that would ameliorate the situation like restoring energy independence, closing the southern border with a wall. Biden has the opportunity to do all these things. He can forcefully confront Iran. He can stand with Israel and condemn all the anti-Semitism, on campus and elsewhere.


However, standing with the Jewish state would make him stand against a major portion of his Party. For its part, Israel has made penetrations into Gaza using bulldozers and APC's to clear a few hundred yards in country. A clock has started. Biden will have a limited window to place assets of his own. He will not be in New Hampshire anytime soon.

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences.
