Since the first devastating attack on Israel by Hamas last October 7th, the behavior of President Biden has been wholly predictable. He has failed to give un-qualified support to Jerusalem, he has been timid in defending American assets in theater, he is apologizing to Muslim leaders, and most significant, Biden has expressed his desire that the cease fire, now in place, that it be extended.


President Biden is being selfish. He is like one of those arm-chair generals that might look at a map and think of some movement or another and see potential. He has no idea of the context. however. He has no idea of logistics, of terrain, position, numbers and so on. In other words, he has no understanding of the situation faced by Israel. But of what Biden is definitely aware is his political position and that is invariably enhanced by encouraging a cease fire extension.


By which Hamas can re-constitute. The terror group releases a hostage but Israel returns several Palestinian prisoners. Now, where does one think all those prisoners will end up ? This prisoner swap is the best Hamas recruiting drive one can imagine. So, any respite of the type that Biden is advocating, allows Hamas to re-group.


Josef Stalin once said that the death of a single human life is a tragedy. The loss of a million ? That is a statistic. Millions perished under Stalin's rule, a lot of statistics. Hamas has Stalin's regard for human life but at the same time, can count on Biden's naïveté to lean on the Israeli's and "encourage" them to begin to limit the scope of IDF operations.


Remember what happened at Munich ? The Western Allies, forced Czechoslovakia, without even consulting Prague, to cede the Sudetenland to Hitler, for, as Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain could claim "peace in our time." Is Israel the new Munich ? Will it receive sufficient pressure and extend the cease fire so that more Israeli hostages can be exchanged for more Palestinian prisoners ?


Biden has been played. He has been so predictable that Hamas correctly played its strategy and while it has sustained losses in personnel and territory in the short term, Biden is assuring its continued existence. Therefore, in time, the same thing could happen again.

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences. Basically, it says that even with the best intentions, negative results sometimes happen. However, there are also instances when a negative result is precisely the desired outcome.
