Birthday Blues. . .

(Birthday Blues. . .)

Melancholy is a common sensation when one marks a birthday. One is a year older, some lament that more would have been accomplished by that point in life. All the missed opportunities, the laments of what might have been. These questions can be answered by President Biden, who turns 81 today. Happy Birthday Mr. President. So, what is President Biden looking back on as far as missed opportunities and so forth ?

Biden's age is the least of his problems. When it is all said and done, Biden has been a bad President and that is why he is now losing. Whenever someone asks for a Biden positive  accomplishment, he will point to the American Rescue Plan or the Inflation Reduction Act or even the Chips Bill. But Biden lost Afghanistan. He has allowed the border to descend into chaos. Major cities under Democrat administration are imploding. Biden is seriously compromised over the Biden "family business." He is not handling China, he is waging a war on fossil fuels and continues to press for "Bidneomics." Two wars have erupted during his tenure and the Israel-Hamas War is fracturing the Democratic Party.

If all this were gong on anyone's 81st, they would be depressed too. But Biden is still President but that being said, could he still serve to 2025 ? The cognitive issues are manifest already so confidence in an ability to serve to term are problematic to say the least. And, in the interval, what policy changes that are needed is the President considering ? Will he finish the border wall ? Will he reverse his energy policy ? Will he more enthusiastically support Israel ? Would he apply sanctions to Iran ? Would he apply sanctions on China ?

The question being asked, however, is, when Biden turns 82 next November 20th, would he still be the prospective Democrat nominee ? As current numbers are indicating, a new poll from NBC News, Biden loses to Trump 44-46. That is the first time the former President is leading Biden and the NBC poll is one that is suggesting a trend.

It was at one point that President Biden was un-assailable. Donald Trump began 2021 with a tantrum and was not at Biden's inauguration, that honor fell to Vice President Pence. Trump was consumed by the so-called "Big Lie," that he actually won in 2020 but a conspiracy Big Media, Big Money, and Big Tech, the essential non-Trump.

But now, President Biden is older but with his age does not come wisdom.
