President Biden is like that uncle who got too old to be out on his own, much less in a Summit with the leader of the Peoples' Republic of China. That being said, however, it was Premier Xi Jinping that was the dominant player in the discussions. There are issues in the Anglo-Sino relations but none were resolved other than some vague assurance that China would attempt to curb fentanyl production, But there was no "progress" in assessing China's "guilt" over the covid pandemic and, more than that, the status on Taiwan was not advanced either.


The truth is that China is able to bank-roll the Russo-Ukraine War and the Israel-Hamas War because it is buying oil from Iran that has had its oil sanctions lifted. An effect of Biden's war in fossil fuels all but predicted his subordinate position in San Francisco. The Chinese Premier had said that he, and, by extension, the Peoples' Republic, desires desired economic engagement, that had been prompted by stated American objectives to decrease cooperation and to continue to challenge Beijing on its theft of intellectual property and technology transfer. If there is a "secret" protocol from the Biden-Xi meeting, it would be that should he President win re-election, the sanctions on China during the Trump Administration would be removed,


That being said, it will be difficult to gauge President Biden's reaction should China actually invade Taiwan. Biden has said that the island will be defended but was that all a bluff and when a kinetic war erupts between the two countries, will Biden have the Seventh Fleet take station in Formosan waters and defend Taiwan ? he has yet to fully commit to assisting Israel so why with confidence would people assume he has the same intentions with regards to Taiwan ?


However and perhaps most egregious is Biden's concession that he will shut down domestic American fossil fuel production in favor of green energy. Of all the things that went wrong in San Francisco, for all the reasons the President should not have been there in the first place, Biden placed his naïveté on full display if he thinks Xi Jinping will be doing any of the same.


For his part, the Premier is saying that the Peoples' Republic is having problems and was by Xi was also visiting certain American CEO's. China is needing foreign investment but President Biden did not place any emphasis on covid origins, Chinese slave labor or any movement on Taiwan. What Biden seems to have missed in San Francisco is that China is not as strong as is supposed. The problem was that Biden is so weak as the fossil fuel admission confirms. And it is not just China that Biden is not handling but Iran as well, waiving $10 billion in oil sanctions.


China and Iran are enemies but both are aware that President Biden need to accommodate them and confirmation that in the Biden Administration, it is America Last because, "America" was never the reason for why Joe Biden is President. If he can surrender American energy independence to its greatest enemy ?

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences.
