One can remember the O.J. Trial. A courtroom drama that dragged on for weeks on whether the former Bills running back and Naked Gun actor, O.J. Simpson killed his ex wife and her friend in brutal fashion. The trial was no with the exception of inevitable exposure but those who followed the proceedings, who saw the testimony, those who saw evidence presented, came to the conclusion that the former pro had indeed killed his wife. So, when the not guilty verdict was returned. it surprised a lot of people and cleavings emerged.

Like the O.J. verdict, the Israel-Hamas War has exposed certain rifts, especially in the Democrat Party, on collage campuses, and all the other places one sees either pro-Palestinian or anti-Israel protests. It would seem that every nation on earth would have the right to self-preservation but an international exception is being made for the Jewish state, which is vigorously waging a campaign in an attempt to assure its survival. As a part of that and as a consequence of war. civilians, caught in the crossfire, are being killed.

The Judeo-Christian tradition lies at the core of Western Civilization but that is a legacy that is being rejected by the modern left and these are these people out demonstrating on Hamas' behalf. In a recent House resolution in support of Israel, not a few Democrats voted against the measure. What is that saying ? That there are Democrat House Members that would declare their support for an organization that celebrates the murder of children ?

The Holy Season is all but here and one can remember how King Herod, hearing a rumor of a child born who could be of some importance, took steps by ordering the killing of babies in the region. The event was called the "Slaughter of the Innocents." Is that what Democrats in Congress are aspiring to ? All the campus protests, the anti-Jewish sentiment, is it a desire to replicate Herod ?

What is clear is that the traditional Democrat coalition that had been assembled two years ago to defeat Trump is falling apart, a process being accelerated by the Near East War. How many Jews will be supporting Democrats next year if the Party platform becomes anti-Semitic in nature ?  A grand illusion has been pierced. How long will it take, and how many more will die before that wall gets mended.

Hope last night's Halloween was fun. However, for those houses that offered tofu or something else decidedly not candy, plans should immediately be put into effect to egg or toilet paper said house.
