What were the final lines from Colonel Walter E. Kurtz from the Vietnam classic Apocalypse Now ! "the horror, the horror." What war is not that, and the Israel-Hamas War is no different. But, this is a just fight for Israel. It is a fight for their survival and the claims to the contrary are becoming tiresome. Those who are espousing anti-Semitism and anti- Jewish hate, the pro-Palestinian demonstrations, how American Jews are being threatened, is all a display of a deep ignorance and a lack of common sense. So, today, amid this backdrop of events, let these Pages take a side.


Hamas is not a sympathetic organization. They are a terrorist regime that have committed acts of such brutality, including wholesale rape of Jewish women while they were made captives by Hamas fighters. Outrageous comparisons have been made and more moral equivalency that is totally mis-placed.


The tolerance for this activity is diminishing. It has to. There is the right of free speech for all but that has to be for all. That means that any pro-Palestinian sentiment must be equally matched by pro-Israel. Americans should have a natural affinity for the Jewish state as both are democracies and both were born in fire.


Sadly, that is not the case for thousands. To say that they all are mis-informed is too simplistic, however. They have been taught to hate Jews and Israel and when the current conflagration erupted, the default position was what it became to be. That being said, let the "default" position of these Pages be known


Hamas is irredeemable. It's elimination by Israel is justified and will be the inevitable result. The terror group cannot be saved by any mechanism that matters. Those who think that Hamas will ultimately prevail will be similarly discounted in time. Time there is. There can only be two outcomes. Either Israel survives. . . or it doesn't.

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. (Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences. Basically, it says that even with the best intentions, negative results sometimes happen. However, there are also instances when a negative result is precisely the desired outcome. Like with the Israel- Hamas war where the Biden Administration continues to press for an all but unilateral ceasefire on the part of Israel.
