The other day, two staffers from the Office of Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD) found themselves in "compromised positions" inside a Senate hearing room, and put the event on tape. The puns that can be generated from this event can be endless and confirms the Senate's standing as a house of ill repute. Speaking of puns but the "dangerous liaison" that took place was the most consequential piece of Senate business. The Senate has yet to adjourn for Christmas and there is no agreement on Ukraine funding, Israel support, and a new border policy.


The excuse being given is that the "text" needs to be produced but there is a time element. Ukraine funding for example is seen as critical if Kiev is to prosecute the war further. The much-hyped Ukraine offensive from a few months ago as apparently stalled. Opposing Russian assets were attritted to a significant degree but the basic correlation of forces has remained unaltered.


In Israel, the correlation of forces still heavily favors the IDF, which just took out Hamas' bag man. Also, however, the latter is still able to launch rockets at Tel Aviv. So, even that part of the operation has yet to be completed but as Israeli troops advance further south, further sites will continue to be unmasked and end the Hamas missile threat once and for all. This War, now in its third month, can be seen to end when the border with Egypt is reached.


Speaking of borders. The whole argument for support for Ukraine, a Biden priority, is that the President would allow for a new immigration, "whatever." There is the aversion to finish Trump's wall but the alternative has been reached where there is no longer the option. It could be that there is a surge of migrants now on the expectation that Donald Trump might return to Office, in which he could order mass deportation. So, get in before Trump does.


Senator Jon Fetterman (D-PA) is having a remarkable in that the hoodied legislator has decided he is no longer "progressive." Senator Bob Menendez is still the gold standard for a corrupt politician. And people are having sex. Like one says, these jokes write themselves.

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Or, in other words, relax. Take a breath. De-compress. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences. Basically, it says that even with the best intentions, negative results sometimes happen. However, there are also instances when a negative result is precisely the desired outcome. Like with the Israel- Hamas war where the Biden Administration continues to press for an all but unilateral ceasefire on the part of Israel. In California, the new $20/HR minimum wage is wreaking havoc on the fast food industry. And finally, after depleting the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, oil has now become too expensive. How many times must the Biden Administration think it can influence Israeli affairs ? How many times must Israel ignore it.
