The Great Wall of China is a remarkable architectural achievement. At over thirteen thousand miles long, it rises on the Chinese coast and terminates in the depths of the Gobi Desert. The wall was constructed over the span of several Dynasties, beginning in earnest with the Chin. The wall of which most tourists take pictures today, however, were built by the Ming.


The Wall is a remarkable piece of engineering but in its primary function, keeping the Jongno, barbarians from the north, out of China proper, it failed. Such incursions could be common, especially if the Wall was under-manned by some dynastic weakness or other. Indeed, dynasties have fallen because the Wall could not hold an invasion. The Ming Dynasty fell to an invasion of Manchus. In turn, the Manchus formed the Qing Dynasty, China's last.


Today, the Jongno in question could be Donald Trump. The Peoples' Republic is not Davos, but Beijing's reaction could be just as telling. From the outset, it was clear that Joe Biden was no Donald Trump and the Biden Administration went on to decisively confirm that over the last three years. Afghanistan, Ukraine, and now the Middle East. The enduring nature of Bidenomics. And, in time, it could be that Donald Trump is no Joe Biden.


It is clear on which candidate is preferred. President Biden has been played. His core has always been what benefits he and his family, or what is benefitting him politically. The Green New Deal as well as Bidenomics was never popular. His war on fossil fuels and the high gas prices. And of course, the border is a mess. When the Biden Presidency began, there was an assessment that President Biden seemed willing to force costs on the American people because Biden was told these measures were important to the environment.


President Biden is not only played, he is being managed. His public are scripted to be rare, Whan he is seen, one can tell he is having issues. The conclusion that is being drawn is that Biden could not survive another five years as President. In a sense, Biden was all but Beijing's agent in the White House. The same could also be said for Moscow and Tehran.


Donald Trump could change that. He knows what he was able to do before and one expect a return to that status quo ante. There is a way to act towards President Biden. There is a wholly different way to handle President Trump.

TEQUILA !

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Or, in other words, relax. Take a breath. De-compress. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences. Basically, it says that even with the best intentions, negative results sometimes happen. However, there are also instances when a negative result is precisely the desired outcome.
