John Hancock Was From Boston

(John Hancock Was From Boston)

John Hancock was a wealthy Boston merchant. He was also a member of the Second Continental Congress and was its Chair. With the end result, the Declaration of Independence, the most prominent signature was that of John Hancock. In subsequent years, when one is asked to sign a document, he could be prompted to give his "John Hancock."

Tomorrow is the New Hampshire Primary and on the Republican side there are now only two, Donald Trump and Nikki Haley. President Biden, however, is not on the Ballot in New Hampshire, whether he is aware of that or not. New Hampshire Democrats were bypassed in favor of South Carolina going first. But, as an alternative, President Biden could receive "write-in" votes. Even with this option, Biden is still polling at 61%.

At best, that would be a shot in the dark. For an average Granite State voter, taking an extra step to pen in the name of the President could prove ponderous. Biden has not campaigned in the state. Indeed, his visibility has been limited. There is really no motivation for any resident of New Hampshire to engage the Democrat President.

One is more likely to accurately read a Weegeee (spelling ?) Board than to determine the voting patterns of New Hampshire. The state switches Parties like most people change socks. Most citizens are registered independents and are prone to independent thinking. That being said, at least on the GOP contest, former President Trump is polling at over fifty percent.

When the dust settles and it is Wednesday, there will be two losers that come from the New Hampshire Primary, Nikki Haley and President Biden. The former Governor of South Carolina will not attain the levels she would need, even if independents and even cross-over Democrats pulled the lever for her. Trump's margin is too great.

The Primary season is designed for various candidates to square off against each other and accumulate delegates along the way. When the one with the most delegates gets to the convention, the states have a roll call, and the Nominee is declared. This year, the Republicans will convene in Milwaukee this July. However, Donald Trump could soon be the last one standing.

What happens if a field clears this early ?
