One can feel sympathy for those who have just intense positions that they often produce excess stomach acid. Heartburn can be a fact of life, worse if one gets angina. Now, there are a lot of medicative techniques, listening to soothing music, learning to golf and so on. These can have palliative effects and could work to restore one's peace of mind.


Former First Lady Michelle could use some of these stress relief as she has announced that the idea of another Trump victory "has her terrified." She went on to say that "we can't take this democracy for granted," a not so veiled reference to a potential Donald Trump win. One can understand Mrs. Obama's concerns as they are shared by so many others. The Biden legacy is the Obama legacy and, if Trump is re-elected, all the supposed progress the last two Democrat Administrations will be reversed. If one wants to avoid that outcome ? Michelle Obama for President.


Such a candidacy will determine the Obama commitment to their ideals and what they would be willing to sacrifice to maintain. A more practical reason to jump into the race is that Michelle Obama could re-capture the black vote and possibly defeat Trump. A Michelle Obama campaign could also facilitate the removal of Joe Biden from the ticket and still make allowances for the Vice President.


Of course, despite Mrs. Obama's advantages in any potential Presidential run, President Biden would have to agree to step aside. He will be approached and "encouraged" to allow Michelle to have her shot. That would mean, however, that Joe Biden had failed. That he and all his green dreams and his dogged pursuit of them had come to an end. He was going to be the hero. Now, Mrs. Obama would by and large continue those policies if elected but Joe gets retired.


Joe Biden's "retirement," if it comes, to be possibly replaced by Michelle Obama, would need the acquiescence of the Democrat National Committee. To date, the DNC has steadfastly refused to allow any challenge to President Biden but might allow the exception of Michelle Obama.


Until she makes that decision to run, however, Mrs. Obama can continue to be "scared" of a Trump election. A requisite amount of stress will accompany that feeling and as the year progresses, and as Election Day approaches, and Mrs. Obama is not in fact a candidate, a time may come when she has to consume Maylox by the gallon.

TEQUILA !

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Or, in other words, relax. Take a breath. De-compress. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences. Basically, it says that even with the best intentions, negative results sometimes happen. However, there are also instances when a negative result is precisely the desired outcome.
