Defense Secretary Lloyd Ausitn apparently had a health issue the other day, one sufficiently serious that required time in the Intensive Care Unit. Austin's boss, the President of the United States, Joe Biden. Who, for his part, looked confused and had to be led off stage by his wife, D. Jill. after a speech at Valley Forge. The President has been known to struggle cognitively but it does not say much about a chain of command where the National Command Authority (the President) and his Secretary of Defense are in-capacitated at the same time.


Austin was admitted to Walter Reed for an "elective" procedure. Complications arose, hence the escalation of treatment. Austin had failed to inform his Deputy who in turn failed to inform the White House and that is not sitting well with Republican Senators. This has been a break-down in communication that could have had serious consequences.


If one looked at Biden at Valley Forge, the most important winter headquarters for General Washington and the Continental Army, and was witness to this President's condition, there is little evidence that Biden could maintain a campaign all the way to November ? The Iowa Caucus is mere weeks away.


In the effort to replace the President on the November ballot, the incident at Valley Forge is adding more evidence to that cause. There will come a point where concealment of the President's condition will be made public knowledge to where even the illusion of a campaign cannot be sustained. Even if the President returns to the "basement strategy," his isolation would do nothing to alleviate any concerns people might have.


So, with the Defense Secretary suffering from a medical condition, the President suffering from a cognitive issue. At the Pentagon, Austin was in the hospital and, as it turned out, his Deputy was in Puerto Rico. These events share the lack of transparency that is common in the Biden Administration. The reason ? It appears no one is really in charge. The Deputy Defense Secretary was not in charge. The Secretary is not in charge. The President of the United States was not in charge.

TEQUILA !

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences. Basically, it says that even with the best intentions, negative results sometimes happen. However, there are also instances when a negative result is precisely the desired outcome.
