Choices are a fact of life. Like an all you can eat buffet but all one afford would be the appetizers. The disposition of President Joe Biden is like the limited selection of the food line. And this does derive from Special Counsel Robert Dur, who has said the President did commit violations of law but because, as Hur's "kindly old man with a poor memory," and would not be less than a sympathetic figure that there would be no need to face a jury.


The truth is more sanguine. Former charges are not being pursued against the President because he is Joe Biden. However, that argument is losing validity. If Biden can function, as he is insisting he can, then he should be able to face the consequences. And that would include answering for the allegations in Hur's report. Beyond that however, this process has illuminated the idea of the President remaining in Office in the first place ?


Biden is set to get a physical soon. However, it will be his mental state that will be of most interest. Will he be getting an MRI ? An encephalogram ? Will the results be released ? What might that say if they are not ? What is emerging is the President with an increasingly diminished capacity and that re-enforces the idea that Biden cannot last indefinitely. But is the country ready for a President Harris who is saying she is ready to be President.


To be sure, Harris has her own problems. She is one of those "break glass only in extreme emergency." Biden un-able to finish his term would qualify as an emergency and discussions as to perhaps invoking the 25th Amendment. This then is the option for the President. Either he is impaired and should perhaps be removed, or he is not. He cannot straddle this fence much longer.


All this cannot help but benefit Donald Trump. Trump has been leading Biden in most state polls but he would probably rout Kamala Harris. Democrats are dealing with a basket spoiled by two rotten apples. However, getting those apples out could upset the whole cart. It has been mentioned that the President did not give a Super Bowl interview, But he was on Tik Tok. That Chinese Communist Party social media platform, the one that had been "banned."

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences. Basically, it says that even with the best intentions, negative results sometimes happen. However, there are also instances when a negative result is precisely the desired outcome.
