As is required by every President, this March 7th, President Biden will be delivering the State of the Union. Assuming he could manage to get through the entire address, remain coherent and speaks clearly, then he should be able to deliver what he thinks the state of the Union is. At least as far as he is concerned. The President is likely to mention these topics: Executive Action on the Border, the forgiveness of more student debt and even an announcement on a reduction on electric vehicle mandates.


Whatever the President says next month, it will be an attempt to buy votes." Biden has had three years to secure the border and has insisted that Congress give him Legislation. There was the Senate Bill from a few weeks ago but that could not pass the House. What then is this new Executive Action concerning the border ? Will it put an end to the mass migration ? Will it send these illegals back Across the border instead of Catch and Release ? Is the asylum standard to be changed ? Probably not. The Senate bill would still have allowed some five thousand aliens a week, if not a day. The acceptable level would be zero migrants daily.


Another thing President Biden will proudly proclaim is another round of student loan forgiveness. Such a policy had been declared un-Constitutional by the Supreme Court but, in an Election Year where Biden's chances against Trump appears problematic at this point, this could be an attempt to "buy votes." Biden is not winning any popularity contests so those with the eligible obligations.


There is some confusion as to the President's approach to electric vehicles. However, any rumor that the Administration could be re-considering its stand on EV's, the Enviornmental Protection Agency is in the process of all but outlawing the internal combustion engine. In response, over 130 Republicans, House and Senate penned a letter to the President saying this is a bad idea. Such a radical amendment is not where the American people are by and large. The President will be able to give details on March 7th.


The State of the Union speech will amount to a Biden and Democrat wish list. The President will make usual complaints about rich people paying their share and offer criticism on the Supreme Court, with the Justices front-row center. He will insist that climate change is the threat he thinks it to be. It remains to be seen how much of what will be announced on March 7th will be in force on November 5th.

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences. Basically, it says that even with the best intentions, negative results sometimes happen. However, there are also instances when a negative result is precisely the desired outcome.
