Earlier this morning, an errant cargo ship lost control and drifted into the central piling of the Francos Scott Key Bridge spanning Baltimore Harbor, causing the bridge to collapse. The Francis Scott Key is a major artery and its loss for however long it will take to construct its replacement. An already stressed supply situation, an already elevated inflation level could only be exacerbated by the loss of the Key.


Baltimore bridges are not the only thing breaking today. If the collision had not happened, it would have been the "breaking" of the half billion civil fraud judgment reduced to $175 million and ten days with which to remit. The Biden Administration is getting further estranged from Israel and the on air "talent" at NBC and MSNBC are expressing consternation that the Network has hired outgoing RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel.


Speaking of things NBC/MSNBC, when it was announced that the Trump judgment had been reduced, that the former President said he would be able to meet the obligation, the "journalists" on those channels have an intense hatred for Trump so when it was made clear that there would be no spectacle of Trump Tower and other of his properties being seized my Leticia James. Trump has been granted a reprieve. Also, his Truth Social began trading today and it has risen some 30+ %.


But Trump also purged the Republican National Committee, which had the effect of firing Ronna McDaniel. She needed a job. However, it is because of her GOP past that makes her damaged goods. Already, certain elements within the broadcast day have stated that McDaniel will not be welcome on their programs. Why might that be ? Are the likes of Chuck Todd or Rachel Maddow so in-secure in their beliefs that any challenge, that McDaniel will invariably provide, would upset their collective sensibilities ? Now, the National Broadcasting Corporation made the decision to hire McDaniel but if she is terminated when her feet are barely in the door ? This is not some shot gun wedding from a Vegas chapel that can be immediately annulled.


This being said, the most important bridge that has broken is the break in Anglo-Israeli relations. The political divergence between the Biden Administration has been mentioned and it has also been equally evident of Jerusalem's disregard. There is an effort to have Prime Minister Netanyahu stand for re-election. All this is from the imperative that the Gaza war needs to end. Donald Trump has said that Hamas needs to be eliminated but Netanyahu does not have an un-limited interval with which to accomplish the task.


How many metaphors can be attributed to the crash in Baltimore ? A rudderless freighter, a span hit at just the right spot and the bridge falls into the harbor, causing further supply disruption and no help for inflation. How much of this situation would be America, in microcosm ?

TEQUILA !

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences. Basically, it says that even with the best intentions, negative results sometimes happen. However, there are also instances when a negative result is precisely the desired outcome.
