Reading the fine print. In his other life, Donald Trump as a businessman, concluded dozens if not hundreds of transactions. Central to the success of said agreements was an understanding of all the small details. The fine print, in other words. However. when he completed his most important transaction, that of being elected President, he failed to read the fine print. There had been a regime in place that a Trump Presidency would disrupt. And he did. Since that ride down that Trump Tower (that Letica James could soon seize) escalator, the regime constructed lies and hoaxes against the Republican President. When Democrats took the House in 2018 and impeached Trump and how the covid "emergency" allowed certain state rule changes and for the 2020 Election, Trump was removed from office.


Reading the fine print now would suggest that Trump was supposed to disappear, and if he didn't, the odds of making a successful return were widely considered as an impossibility. The Trump's Administration failed. All those who gave the nod to Trump in 2026 but abandoned him in 2020, they were supposed to be a lost cause for Trump. And of curse, Trump, while perhaps winning the Republican Nomination, could never beat President Biden in a General Election.  


Donald Trump did not cooperate, however. He ran. He is again the Republican Nominee. In response to that reality, the former President is being charged in various jurisdictions. Today is the day where that almost half billon bond is due, and it will be interesting to see where things stand. What then will be the score this evening ?


It has to be said at this point that all the efforts to "get" the former President that so-called legal logic has been twisted to such an extent that even a pretzel would appear straight. All these countermeasures have been illegal and un-Constitutional. However, the anti-Trump efforts are case of means to an end. Any action against Trump, even illegal and non-Constitutional actions must be considered "justified."


There is that Robert Frost poem "Roads Diverging in a Wood." That can be seen as the situation now. The so-called "next election being the most important" has been claimed for the last several cycles. The 2024 Election, however, could perhaps surpass the importance of previous years.


Some weeks ago, January 11th, These Pages celebrated its 14th Anniversary. On January 11th, 2025, the President will be known. And that will have made all the difference,

TEQUILA !

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences. Basically, it says that even with the best intentions, negative results sometimes happen. However, there are also instances when a negative result is precisely the desired outcome. Like with the Israel- Hamas war where the Biden Administration continues to press for an all but unilateral ceasefire on the part of Israel.
