First, a word on the passing of Connecticut Senator, Democrat then Independent, Joe Liberman with complications from a fall. Liberman had been Al Gore's choice for Vice President in 2000, the only Jew to be held in such esteem. And the Connecticut legislator was one of the first to separate from the Democrat Party and become an Independent. Liberman was a staunch supporter of Israel and has been vocal in recent weeks in the Israel-Hamas War, in contrast to the Biden Administration and other Democrats who have been advocating for a cease-fire and regime change, in Israel.


In any event, there are times when a new element has to be introduced in order to bring something fresh. That happens a lot in TV shows that get stale over the years. NBC has a program, Las Vegas, that had originally starred James Caan. The show, while entertaining, was never a ratings powerhouse. A replacement to Caan was required and former Magnum P.I. and "Jesse Stone" actor, Tom Selleck was recruited and played the last season as Billionaire rancher and oilman, A.J. Cooper. That being said, any star-power that Selleck might have had could not save the show and NBC cancelled Las Vegas.


Like a cusp program like Las Vegas, the Biden Campaign is bringing its own star power in a fund-raiser with former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama to be held at 30 Rockefeller Center where a $100,000 donation will get one a picture with the three past and current Presidents. There are no plans to visit the memorial of a fallen NYPS Officer, Johnathan Diller, who was killed the other day by a repeat offender. In any event, the Campaign will be needing these funds because, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., another name with star power, who has just chosen a running mate, billionaire in her own right, Nicole Shannahan. Like Senator Liberman, Kennedy has left the Democrat Pary and has also named himself an Independent.


With Shannahan's addition to the Kennedy campaign and her own fiduciary potential, could place Kennedy in all 50 states. And, with a name recognition akin to that of Clinton and Obama, and if the Kennedy-Shannahan ticket draws more votes from Biden than it otherwise might from Trump. However, with Kennedy in the race and polling at 12%, Trump wins over Biden by five points.


Of course this is only March and over two hundred days till people go to the polls. That is an eternity in politics and anything can happen. But there seems caution enough for Biden to hold this Big Gun fund-raiser, expected to garner some $25 million. That is much better than Trump and Republicans but the fact remains that the former President maintains a lead and that is in spite of then fact that Trump will be in Court most of the time.


So, what is in a name ? If the name is Joe Biden, and the question is posed as what he has accomplished, the majority of those asked answered nothing.

TEQUILA !

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Or, in other words, relax. Take a breath. De-compress. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences. Basically, it says that even with the best intentions, negative results sometimes happen. However, there are also instances when a negative result is precisely the desired outcome.
