On an interview with radio host Howard Stern, President Biden says he will commit to a debate with former President Trump. At this point, avoiding any confrontation because there is the fear that the President would not be able to handle a rigorous set of questions and repones without the benefit of cue cards or otherwise handler input. Biden will have to speak for himself, and, if he gets "dosed," as he might have been for the State of the Union, Biden might be able to go the distance with Trump. However, that is a Big If.


So, imagine the two Presidential contenders on some stage, with or without a moderator. One of the things Trump could ask is why the economy grew at only 1.6% in the latest read of GDP when the estimate had been for 2.4% ? Why is the President keeping the border open ? What is the basis for the elimination of fossil fuels ?


Then Trump could perhaps say this: Rampant crime is devastating communities all across the country. Would that also be by design ? The open border is by design. The war on energy is by design. What about crime ? All the shoplifting and other so-called "shrinkage" Are forcing stores to close and leaving a vacuum in those neighborhoods. Whenever a CVS is forced to close, or a Target or a Wal Mart, what about all the people that used those stores, now suddenly left with no alternative ?


If there is no economic engine to stabilize a community, those residents will be compelled to rely on government assistance, permanent. In a sense, this is reminiscent of agricultural collectivization in the Soviet Union whose catastrophic results speak for themselves. Instead of farms or a kibbutz, one has auto repair shops, beauty shops, electronics stores, gas stations, a liquor store, and so on, along with big box grocery.


These represent peoples' livelihoods but because the role of government could be necessarily limited, these small businesses, such as they are, manifestations of free market economies, the likes of the Biden Administration and liberals in Congress demur. These have nothing to do with the President's green agenda and his desire to raise taxes when the Trump tax cuts get repealed.


So, Trump from his podium and Biden at his, would he be able to answer Trump's queries ? Not if Biden is honest. He is barely being honest with himself.

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences. Basically, it says that even with the best intentions, negative results sometimes happen. However, there are also instances when a negative result is precisely the desired outcome.
