May 10th, 1940, Nazi Germany launched its attack on the West. By the tine it was all over by early June, Belgium, Holland, and even France had fallen. Great Britain took what was left of its army to the beaches of Dunkirk and, what has been called a "miracle," some 338,000 of its number were successfully evacuated back to England. As Prime Minister Churchill remarked, however, "wars are not won by evacuations." But the men rescued were formed unto a new cadre with which the British Army was rebuilt.


However, it must also be mentioned that the panzers, German armored divisions, were halted by Hitler's order, short of the coastal town and could have even beaten the BEF (British Expeditionary Force) to Dunkirk, in which case there would have been no miracle, and the British would have joined the French in defeat.


Biden's decision to halt munitions delivery to Israel is akin to Hiter halting his armor at what could have been the point of strategic victory in the West. With both Western Allies so removed, the invasion of the Soviet Union could have had more success. However, short sighted individuals like Hitler, indeed like Biden, are rarely able to understand long term consequences.


Like Hamas support in this country. All the idiots protesting Israel at whatever university are blissfully unaware that the terror group could just as easily murder them and their families if given the chance. Or, what of Hamas patrons like Iran ? How will Tehran interpret Biden's wholesale abandonment of the one Ally in the region ? Fortunately for Israel, Prime Minister Netanyahu is more determined to see the Hamas mission fulfilled and has the means, and more importantly the will, to see things conclude.


In addition, House Republicans are in the process of filing impeachment charges against President Biden. In the same "logic" that prompted the first Trump impeachment over "a perfect phone call," with Ukrainian Zelenski, so Biden is being held to account for embargoing arms to Israel. Such aid had already been appropriated, with Ukraine money, before Biden got cold feet.


For his part, former President Trump remains languishing. He has said that he would be willing to be incarcerated for the "sake of the Constitution." However, if Trump is found guilty, he will be sentenced like every other defendant. That could mean significant jail time. It is for the greater good.

TEQUILA !

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Or, in other words, relax. Take a breath. De-compress. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences. Basically, it says that even with the best intentions, negative results sometimes happen. However, there are also instances when a negative result is precisely the desired outcome.
