Boarding A Sinking Ship ?

(Boarding A Sinking Ship ?)

Former Trump GOP Primary Rival, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, announced that she will be "voting" for Donald Trump. That is not necessarily an endorsement but an obvious admission that President Biden is worse. That being said, Ms. Haley could be joining the Trump Train at the moment when his campaign will be compromised with a return of a guilty verdict in the hush money trial.

As one will recall, in 2020 because Trump was not effective in dealing with the pandemic. To a point, the crisis as an opportunity to remove the incumbent Trump at the time and recent e-mails are now demonstrating that there was some concealment of data, like the likelihood of covid-19 origins was indeed from a lab and not from a bat. It was also revealed that the masks did not necessarily work, that social distance was not effective and, despite Trump's efforts to get a vaccine on the market, said supplements were not effective in curtailing the virus. But one can shutter the economy, further compromising Trump. So, with the efforts of Big Media, Big Money, and Big Tech and a series of election rule changes, Joe Biden was elevated to the Presidency.

Trump is set to give a rally in the South Bronx. This will probably be remembered as the high point of Trump's re-election effort. In 2020, people went out of their way to not vote for Trump because of the lack of managing covid. Now, come next weekend, the former President will be a convicted felon. All those this time who are looking for a reason to not vote for Trump will have the justification.

The arguments that Biden is too old but Trump is a criminal is beginning to resonate. Going forward it is becoming increasingly evident that, even if President Biden is removed as the Democrat standard bearer, the Democrat machine of acquiring votes by any means necessary can most assuredly over-come any similar efforts posted by Republicans. Making use of those mechanisms, the inevitable drop-in Trump support among independents and otherwise non-committed individuals, should allow Democrats to fare better. They are likely to re-take the House come November.

That being said, however, in a remarkable commentary, there is some opinion that Trump will get a "hung" jury, or, an even more outrageous outcome, an acquittal. Therefore, allow one to declare once and for all that neither of those options are realistic. The whole point of the exercise was to deliver a guilty verdict. If that turns out to not be the case ?
