It is a common comment that if aliens were to land on this planet tomorrow, they would quickly come to the conclusion that this planet is bereft of intelligent life. Having seen nothing of interest, they can re-board whatever vehicle and depart for more exiting realms. Back on Earth, there is a lack of intelligence on full display. In an organization less useful than even the United Nations would be the International Criminal Court, who, at the encouragement of Mrs. George Clooney has issued "arrest warrants" for Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli Defense Minister. How would those "warrants" be served ? Is some international constabulary going to Israel and haul the "accused" into custody ? Over someone's dead body and not Netanyahu's.


In any event, former President Trump has suggested that President Biden take a drug test. It might not be dignified, "peeing in a cup" at this level but the point has been made. If Biden needs performance enhancement pharmaceuticals to stand up-right for a ninety-minute debate, that fact should be known and allow a fuller description come Election Day. However, Trump's counsel is being ignored.


Whether or not Biden will be high on June 27th will remain unknown. Trump will be entering a hostile theater with Tapper and Bash and now veteran newsman Chris Wallace, no fan of the former President himself will be the moderator. That being said, Donald Trump will need to play Joe Biden differently. An argument can be made that Biden bested Trump in the 2020, because the then Vice President had inside information that Trump was going to attempt to use Hunter Biden business activities against his father. However, the Vice President had the signatures of some fifty former intelligence officials that claimed, "Russian dis-information."


Biden has no like edge this time. That being said, in retrospect, Trump lost the first debate in 2020 because the pandemic was at its peak at the time and he underestimated his opponent. Today, however, as the Trump hush money trial is ending and a guilty verdict could be in the offing, and one can also expect an endless recall of the events of January 6th. Four against one does not seem exactly fair. Fair, however, is something Donald Trump can never get.

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Or, in other words, relax. Take a breath. De-compress. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences. Basically, it says that even with the best intentions, negative results sometimes happen. However, there are also instances when a negative result is precisely the desired outcome. Like with the Israel- Hamas war where the Biden Administration continues to press for an all but unilateral ceasefire on the part of Israel.
