STILL Not Getting The Point !

(STILL Not Getting The Point !)

Former Trump advisor Hope Hicks took the witness stand in D.A. Alvin Bragg's Hush Money case. It was supposed to be her testimony that Trump paid the hush fund to keep his relations with Stormy Daniels quiet, not necessarily to benefit his campaign but instead to show deference to wife Melania. These revelations are extraordinary ! This blows Bragg's case out if the water ! Having Hicks testify was the worst move imaginable ! What was Bragg thinking ? One can only hope that Micheal Cohen, Trump's former fixer and the one who "paid" Daniels in the first place, will be able to recover Bragg's fortunes.

Even if Cohen is able to demolish Hicks and her comments, it does not matter. The result will be the same, Trump's conviction. District Attorney Bragg is being called a "rising star" among New York Democrats. Albany might itself be beckoning. Now, Bragg will be getting nowhere near higher Office if it turns out that he is the guy who couldn't get Trump.

But what of Hick's testimony ? She flatly stated that Bragg's own theory of the case, that the hush money was not necessarily for the benefit of the campaign. Even if it were, that is not illegal but it has been the D.A.'s contention that Trump's actions were a conspiracy on his part to win an election. That is common sense but at the same time, un-pardonable because he beat Hillary Clinton and tried to defeat Joe Biden in 2020 and he is trying to do it again now.

So, for all this to happen, one does not need a crime, only an accusation with some pretzel logic liberally applied. Any lawyer on cross-examination knows ahead of time to not ask any question that he or she does not already know the answer. Did Bragg not know what would say or did he know and also know that it would not matter. Despite what Michal Cohen might say, eventually.

Any look at a TV Guide would see that the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby is today. The broadcast is over six hours for a horse race that takes a few minutes at most. Now, even the most avid jockey fan will not watch a program for six hours and one can bet that the expected 150,000 attendees will only begin to show only an hour or two before Post. Big hats and mint julips. Those who are on air for the entire show go through a litany of the horses, the jockeys, and the owners.

The Trump trial is like the Derby that it also has a slate of analysts that are very aware of the desired outcome. And that is what it has always been and nothing from Hope Hicks will change that.
