Verdicts Of History. . .

(Verdicts Of History. . .)

Professor Gordon Prange taught History at the University of Maryland. He is also considered the pre-imminent authority of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Prange in his exhausted research included interviews, stays with some of the principals, and also every book or newspaper article. In the end, he produced a work of several thousand pages. Prange passed in 1980 but two of his graduate students were able to distill the text into four distinct volumes. At Dawn We Slept, which was an exhaustive chronicle of events leading up to Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7th, 1941, about the details of the raid, Pearl Harbor: Verdicts of History, and finally, Miracle at Midway, that described the American victory over the Japanese almost six months to the day after Pearl Harbor.

It is "Verdicts of History" that is the concern now. When the history of the Israel-Hamas War is compiled with objective distance. Where was President Biden in all this ? From the start, Biden had the opportunity to take an unequivocal stand with Israel, the one democracy in the Middle East and the U.S. best ally in the region. But the Biden White House has attempted to frustrate Jerusalem's efforts since October 7th.

Now, the Israeli Defense Forces in a position for a final assault on Rahfah, all of a sudden, Hamas has announced its "acceptance" terms for a "cease-fire." What is this ? A desperate play to stave off the inevitable ? The end of Rafah could also mean the end of Hamas, if only Israel takes advantage of the opportunity, and proceeds against Rafah as originally planned. The Biden Administration has even threatened to sanction Israel, to disrupt deliveries of ammunition. For the only ally. For the benefit of terrorists.

President Biden could have been decisive. He could have come out in support of the Jewish State and readily condemn the anti-Israel and anti-Semitic feelings on college campuses. He could have provided resolve for those university president's that were slow in securing the demonstrations.

World events have a tendency to erupt when they are least expected. At least, that was the case before the President Biden. Since Afghanistan, the outbreak of war in the Ukraine and Israeli wars were almost on a timetable. If there is a verdict of history to be made, it would be that while Biden might be responsible, he has been singularly unable to pick the right side.
