One can say that the election of President Biden in 2020 was also an acknowledge of global elites, the ones that convene in Davos at the World's Economic Forum. In Biden, these elites had a partner that shared their vision on the environment and global commerce. Theirs was to be a "rules based" order, the Paris Climate Acords would be the governing documents. Then came Afghanistan. Ukraine. Israel. Then one has to consider President Biden declining condition. Beyond that. there is all the green socialism and unfettered immigration, not only in this country but across Europe, where some people have apparently had enough.


In elections to the European Parliament, 27 countries, results generally favored right of center candidates. The outcomes in France and Germany were sufficient to have Macron to dissolve his government and in Germany, the so-called Green Party was all but eviscerated. This is a  response to the leftist polices that have been emplaced over the last few years. These were largely rejected over the weekend.


Elites, such as they are, were not enthusiastic when Britain left the European Union in 2016, the BREXIT vote. Persons like then President Obama warned that Britain "would be placed at the end of the queue" and similar admonitions. Then Donald Trump defied expectations and won the White House. Could the same thing be repeating itself ? Could the success of conservative parties across the Continent perhaps be another prediction that the former President could prevail once again ?


There has been a development that could affect the campaign going forward. Hunter Biden has just been convicted on all three counts of gun charges. Deliberations took about three hours and this is only one of two cases facing the First Son, the second being the charges relating to Junior's tax activity, a more serious set of indictments. Now, there are two guilty verdicts, one against Donald Trump and now against Hunter Biden.


What might this presage for November ? Between the E.U. results and now the Hunter verdict, what is the status of the race ? If the debates between President Biden and former President Trump are still set, the two convictions will invariably be a topic of discussion. That being said, the tactic Democrats were using, saying Trump is a convicted felon dissolves because Trump could say the same thing about Hunter.


Could History be repeating itself ? One can add, however, that while the E.U. elected conservative politicians, Britain itself. the inspiration for BREXIT in the first place, could soon get a return to socialist government, the very ideology that was so rejected in Europe proper. If Trump does return to Office, he would be dealing with a Labor government, one that would be as environmentally radical and an expansion of the welfare state.

TEQUILA !

(TEQUILA !) Happy Cinco de Mayo or May 5th. One can hope that a lot of you out there are awash in inebriation, seeking to mainline tequila shots or enjoying a nice margarita on the patio. Or, in other words, relax. Take a breath. De-compress. Intended Consequences

(Intended Consequences) For those Readers who live in the Tri-State area, who had the earthquake this morning, just be still.  There is a postulate called the Law of Un-Intended Consequences. Basically, it says that even with the best intentions, negative results sometimes happen. However, there are also instances when a negative result is precisely the desired outcome.
