Some months ago, Special Counsel, Robert Hur who had been investigating the President's own handling of classified documents but because of Biden's frailty, that he was a kindly old man with a poor memory and it was Hur's contention that he would be unable to get a conviction because Biden is such a sympathetic figure. Counsel testimony obvious came with a transcript but there is also an audio component. This is being sought by Republican investigators in Congress but to date, such requests have not been engaged by Attorney General Garland. For his refusal to cooperate, Garland is being held in contempt. He will be fined and other levels of sanction until he leans more on Robert Hur to release the audio.


What could Biden have said in the recording that was not already made plain at the debate ? The very person that Hur was describing as the kindly old man who couldn't be charged was on full display that Thursday night. The question then becomes what are on those tapes that was not also seen live ?


This has been a long con. The President's true state was probably obvious for a number of years but with the media running interference as it did, aspects of Biden's condition remained concealed. That it is being revealed now shows a lack of transparency, If Biden wants to come clean, he should encourage the release of the material himself. How would he be further compromised if all possible information is released ?


Until Biden decides that action on his own, however, Merritt Garland will remain on the hook as to how to deal with the Congressional Subpoena. Beyond that, however, a release of the audio would show the President's willingness to be honest, now of all times, could convince some of those Democratic Congresspeople to stay the course.


Otherwise, barring any admission and clearance from the President, it will continue to fall to the Attorney General to provide the requested audio materials. There is no longer any point at further concealment. As they say, the cat is out of the bag.

(Keeping The Faith ?) Happy Memorial Day ! This is the day when the nation pauses and recognizes the contributions of the men and women that strove, and often times perished in the defense of this country. How many campaigns and battles have been seen over the years with Americans in harms way. Theirs was not a pursuit of glory, necessarily but they are remembered as such. As an example, take the Joe Rosenthal photo of the "Iwo Jima Flag-raising," February 23rd, 1945. Most people know what that is and not a few have a copy on their wall. Three of those Marines survived Iwo Jima and went on a bond tour to promote that picture. Siege Of The Alamo

(Siege Of The Alamo) Any visitor to Downtown San Antonio will recognize the City's most famous landmark, the Alamo. An old Spanish mission that means "Cottonwood" in English was the site where the likes of Jim Bowie, William Barrett Travis and Davy Crockett and about another 185 Texians defended the Mission and its compound for thirteen days against the Army of General Antonio Lopez de Santa Ana and his 5,000 troops. The garrison was finally reduced on March 6, 1836. However, the Texian defeat at the Alamo and another one at Goliad, bought time for General Sam Houston time to fall back and then face Santa Ana at San Jacinto. There, Houston's army surprised the Mexicans and yelling "Remember the Alamo, Remember Goliad !" all but wiped out the Mexican force.
