It is appropriate that Shark Week is back on the air on National Geographic and the Discovery Channels. The four-week affair endeavors to show everything "shark" from the big great white to the smaller hammerheads or tigers. And all the other species. "Sharks" have also been around that forced President Biden to withdraw from the race. It were "sharks" that protested Netanyahu's visit and flew the Hamas flag. Finally, as Biden was giving his farewell "address," Alaska Air Defense Command intercepted two Chinese and two Russian aerial assets.


President Biden had been defiant right to the end when it had become clear that he could not defeat Donald Trump. Citing the excuse of health, and saying, for the benefit of the Party, and "in order to save democracy," the President announced his withdrawal from the Campaign so "Vice" President Harris, could pick up the mantle. However, have no illusions as to what happened. As been stated, this had been a coup engineered by the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and even former Presidents Clinton and Obama. They told Joe to leave but made it worth his while to leave. Biden was then praised by the sympathetic media. Some even comparing him to President George Washinton. President Biden is not George Washington. Biden is not even George Jefferson.


Sharks were at the Netanyahu visit. As has also been noted, the Vice President did not make an appearance as well as some thirty other Democrat Congress people. What is this saying when the head of America's greatest ally in the Near East is snubbed by the Vice President and for crass political purpose. Netanyahu took note of Harris' absence as well as the protests outside, saying "they are the useful idiots for Iran."


The aircraft intercepted in Alaskan airspace were two Russian Tu-95 Bear F Bombers and two Chinese H-6 (according to Janes' All the World's Aircraft, the H-6 is a licensed copy of the old Soviet Tu-16 Badger. So, what were they doing close to Alaska ? China and Russia have been getting closer as the U.S. has gotten weaker under President Biden. But the page has turned and now it is Mrs. Harris. Would she seem any stronger to Beijing or Moscow ?


There should be no illusion as to what has happened in the last few days. President Biden was discarded, rather un-ceremoniously one might add, because he no longer was an asset and indeed had become a liability. But they had to resort to recruiting Kamala Harris, who has baggage of her own.

(Keeping The Faith ?) Happy Memorial Day ! This is the day when the nation pauses and recognizes the contributions of the men and women that strove, and often times perished in the defense of this country. How many campaigns and battles have been seen over the years with Americans in harms way. Theirs was not a pursuit of glory, necessarily but they are remembered as such. As an example, take the Joe Rosenthal photo of the "Iwo Jima Flag-raising," February 23rd, 1945. Most people know what that is and not a few have a copy on their wall. Three of those Marines survived Iwo Jima and went on a bond tour to promote that picture. (Siege Of The Alamo) Any visitor to Downtown San Antonio will recognize the City's most famous landmark, the Alamo. An old Spanish mission that means "Cottonwood" in English was the site where the likes of Jim Bowie, William Barrett Travis and Davy Crockett and about another 185 Texians defended the Mission and its compound for thirteen days against the Army of General Antonio Lopez de Santa Ana and his 5,000 troops. The garrison was finally reduced on March 6, 1836. However, the Texian defeat at the Alamo and another one at Goliad, bought time for General Sam Houston time to fall back and then face Santa Ana at San Jacinto. There, Houston's army surprised the Mexicans and yelling "Remember the Alamo, Remember Goliad !" all but wiped out the Mexican force.
