In a sharp contrast to the State of the Presidental Race a year or so ago, where the former President was in court most of the time. And why ? One of the major charges was that the Trump tried to overturn Joe Biden's Election. The mortal sin of the time. Now, what the Hell are the Democrats trying to do ? They are trying to reverse the Election of Joe Biden, only this time it is friendly fire. Between the former President, the former Speaker of the House, the current Democrat leader in then House, and some thirty different Democrat House and Senate Members who are all suggesting Biden find a graceful exit. However, the attempts to force Biden's departure to date has been anything but graceful. So, in an ironic twist for the ages, Joe Biden is being forced out by the same charges with which they were after Donald Trump.

President Biden has announced he is withdrawing from his Campaign and has endorsed Vice President Harris to succeed him.


If this were a logjam, one log has been removed. The question now is what might come next ? Biden has said that he will finish his term, largely as a lame duck. He and the Democrat Party have no money as fund-raising efforts have collapsed. There is a natural panic among Democrats as the ultimate effect of the President's withdrawal has yet to be determined.


What might this turn of events mean for the Trump/Vance Campaign ? To be sure, Biden's removal is only the first but the most important step. The second would be the choice of Harris as successor. However, there are thousands of Delegates pledged to the Biden/Harris ticket. They would have to be released to "vote their conscience" once the Democrats convene in Chicago in a few weeks. The question is who do those delegates, super and otherwise, and who can rally them to produce a consensus candidate.


And how long will that take ? The Republicans had a more successful Convention of their own and Trump and Vance are now on the trail holding Trump rallies. Remember the former President was almost shot just over a week ago. That was supposed to chasten Trump, to a point. The so-called "extinction level event" if Democrats have a bad down-ballot night on November 5th. beyond what happens to who is final Democratic Nominee for President and how he or she will fare against Donald Trump.

(Keeping The Faith ?) Happy Memorial Day ! This is the day when the nation pauses and recognizes the contributions of the men and women that strove, and often times perished in the defense of this country. How many campaigns and battles have been seen over the years with Americans in harms way. Theirs was not a pursuit of glory, necessarily but they are remembered as such. As an example, take the Joe Rosenthal photo of the "Iwo Jima Flag-raising," February 23rd, 1945. Most people know what that is and not a few have a copy on their wall. Three of those Marines survived Iwo Jima and went on a bond tour to promote that picture. The U.S. was able to fund the rest of the War off of that drive but the Marines in question did not fare well. Siege Of The Alamo

(Siege Of The Alamo) Any visitor to Downtown San Antonio will recognize the City's most famous landmark, the Alamo. An old Spanish mission that means "Cottonwood" in English was the site where the likes of Jim Bowie, William Barrett Travis and Davy Crockett and about another 185 Texians defended the Mission and its compound for thirteen days against the Army of General Antonio Lopez de Santa Ana and his 5,000 troops. The garrison was finally reduced on March 6, 1836. However, the Texian defeat at the Alamo and another one at Goliad, bought time for General Sam Houston time to fall back and then face Santa Ana at San Jacinto. There, Houston's army surprised the Mexicans and yelling "Remember the Alamo, Remember Goliad !" all but wiped out the Mexican force.
